Ben Bowling is enjoying the prospect of a classic rival on his hands with May Hill winner Polly Pot who is set to join his yard when Harry Dunlop retires at the end of the season.

Although Pauling has made his name as a jump coach, he is looking to expand his thread and will be looking to kick-start the process with the arrival of the two-year-old filly who heralds true classic ambitions for next season.

With Dunlop winning three of her four wins, Bowling believes there’s room for her to set out on the journey. He said, “It looks like it will stay. You must have in the back of your mind an entry to Guinea, or we’ll see if she goes to the Oaks trial and then heads for the Oaks. Those decisions can be close in time.”

“She’s not the oldest two-year-old so she’s probably been a great fit for her juvenile career, but the pedigree says it should improve over time so it’s a very exciting opportunity for us.”

As for her plans for the rest of the season, Bowling expects to be completed on set 1 bet365 Fillies’ Mile.

He said: “You will be staying with Harry now until the end of the season. Everything is fine, the plan is for it to be completed at Newmarket.

“We’ll see how she comes out of that and then Harry and Megson can decide if she’s done it for this season or if she’s been taking place elsewhere.”

Polly Pott is available at 33-1 in pre-market for Qipco 1000 Guineas.

Her arrival could not have come at a better time for Bowling, who had already begun to have talks about training Flat horses in the summer.

He said, “While Harry informed his companions that he was retiring, Andrew, Jane [the Megsons] And I was starting to have conversations about how keen we are to start training flat horses for the summer.

“They asked me if I would be willing to have a Polly Pot when Harry retired and I said yes I would be happy. At that time she had won her previous few races, her first nursery. I applied to win another nursery and My Hill which I think is very promising. It was not Anyone can predict that she will continue to win the second set. It’s really exciting.

“I’m thrilled – I want everyone to enjoy everything they can do. I’m definitely not looking to spoil the party, and I’m really looking forward to taking the reins and looking to the future.”
