The best controller settings for PlayStation, Xbox and PC

  • Button Layout Preset – Tactical preset recommended

Other than the default layout, you will find 13 different button layout options. These layout options change the button assignment for weapon fire, aim down, engagement, use of tactical and lethal equipment, and more. Although it will ultimately come down to your preference and playing style, one of the most popular options is Tactical, which toggles the Melee and Stance buttons, providing a much better gaming experience.

Again, if these options don’t work for you, consider trying the other options available to see what works best for you.

  • Controller Vibration – Off

We recommend switching Control vibration off. It will save you battery life, and the vibrations can often throw off your movement and act as a distractor.

For those who have PlayStation 5 consoles, we highly recommend Turn off trigger effects. Turning this feature off will help prevent any resistance or vibration when L2 and R2 are pressed. In addition, playing with Trigger Effects can greatly affect your performance from a competitive point of view, as reversal time will be vital in winning many matches.

  • Horizontal/Vertical Stick Sensitivity – Sensitivity between 6 to 8 is recommended.

Like most settings in this category, the sensitivity of the horizontal and vertical sticks comes down to personal preference. Although there is no one-size-fits-all setting, we recommend that you test several different allergy options. Adjusting stick sensitivity is one of those little tweaks that can drastically affect your gameplay, to the point where it could be the difference between hitting your targets in front of your enemy.

The game defaults to 4 o’clock, and while it will take some getting used to, we recommend turning your sensitivity somewhere between 6 to 10; However, it’s not uncommon to see some players use settings as high as 12. While moving with a much higher sensitivity will feel weird at first, try giving each option at least a few games.

  • Auto Enemy – Auto Tactical Enemy

We recommend turning on Automatic Tactical Sprint, which allows your character to run automatically when moving. This reduces the need to press other buttons to toggle sprints, which increases your reaction time during confrontations.

  • Interact/Reload Behaviors – Prioritize Reload

There are many things you can interact with in Modern Warfare 2, whether it’s picking up weapons or opening doors. To avoid any mishaps, we recommend selecting the Reload Priority option. This means that if simultaneous reload and interaction are available, tap to reload and hold to interact.

Alternatively, if you are playing a game mode such as Search and Destroy, you may want to choose the Interaction Priority, as it will make it easier to interact with the targets.

  • Armor Panel Behavior – Apply All

While there are no armor plates in MW2 beta, it is recommended to select Apply All. This setting will simplify the need to tap and hold each panel to apply them one by one; Instead, the process will be automatic after you perform the initial push and hold.

The best advanced controller settings for PlayStation, Xbox and PC

Here’s where things get exciting, as you’ll find many useful settings located inside Advanced Settings for the control list. To access advanced settings, tap RT/R1 When using the controller settings menu.

take Target Aim Assist is set to ON It will allow the camera to slow down when the intersection is about to move over the enemy.

  • Aiming assist type – it is recommended to test all options

If you’re new to shooting on consoles or aren’t usually a fan of the traditional target slowdown used in Modern Warfare games, you may want to test all of the different options available under this setting.

  • Here are all types of Aim Assist available:
    • shortening – Traditional target deceleration close to the target used in Modern Warfare games.
    • Accuracy – Strong deceleration of the target that begins only when shooting close to the target. Best for precision players.
    • concentration A strong slowdown in shooting also begins when the target is narrowly lost. Best for players new to analog shooting.
    • black ops – Traditional target slowdown near the target used in Black Ops games.

Again, this will all come down to personal preference.

  • Deadzone input – we recommend testing different values

attempt scale down The Least dead zone input left/right stick To prevent your character from drifting and moving unwanted. While the default is 0.10, we recommend changing this to somewhere between 0.1 and 0.5 if you’re looking for analog sticks to be more responsive to the touch.

However, this will, of course, depend entirely on your console and whether it is currently experiencing any drift.

There are plenty of opportunities to cover things up in Modern Warfare 2, which can create some rather interesting tactics and strategies. However, sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the covering process when you’re simply trying to peek at walls and objects.

For this reason, we recommend Grounded Mantle Off, which means that the Jump button will not make you wear the scarf while you are on the ground. Instead, you must first tap to jump, then tap again to start the sash. While it’s an extra button click, we found it outweighed the gameplay benefits.

Due to the relatively fast pace on some Modern Warfare 2 maps, we recommend that you play Quick C4 Detonation. This means that pressing the Lethal Equipment button will detonate any C4 on the map before another is thrown.

However, if you want to plant multiple C4 bombs simultaneously, you will need to turn this off.

Best graphic settings to change and adjust

  • Global Motion Blur & Weapon Motion Blur – Off

Be sure to Turn off World Motion Blur And the Weapon movement blur. While this setting is mostly designed for a more cinematic experience, you’ll find that it makes the environment and your weapon very blurry and more difficult to see what’s going on around you. This is obviously not ideal if you are looking to play competitively and win matches.

Much like motion blur settings, film grain is basically the filter that applies visual noise to your game. Again, you’ll want to set this to 0 to make sure the game is as crisp as possible.

We recommend setting Depth of Field to turning off Because it will make any areas out of focus appear blurry. With this setting left on, you’ll be playing at a disadvantage.

As mentioned above, you’ll want to configure this AMD technology to ensure your game runs as smoothly as possible. Although we set our value to 40, it all comes down to personal preference, so be sure to try a few different values.

  • Field of View – Adjust between 100 to 110

Set to 80 by default, we recommend setting your field of view to somewhere between 100 and 110. While we found 120 to be a bit high to our liking, we think 100 to 110 provides a nice spot and still offers plenty of additional screen space. Remember, the higher the field of view, the higher your chances of experiencing low frame rate and graphical issues will also increase.

Best sound settings to change and adjust

  • Music volume – 0 to 50 recommended

Lower the volume of your music to ensure you don’t miss a single step or an incoming enemy. While some might set them to 0, we found somewhere around 30 was a good balance.

Best interface settings to change and adjust

  • Telemetry – server latency and packet loss to “on”

You may want to turn on the telemetry settings if you are experiencing issues with lag and low frame rate. This will allow you to display server latency, connection meter, packet loss, and more on the screen.
