Commentator attacks ‘anger, confrontational, aggressive’ Arsenal man who ‘impressed’ against Brentford

Granit Xhaka was fantastic against Brentford on Sunday and made Garth Crooks’ Team of the Week as a result, much to his chagrin.

Arsenal beat bees in the English Premier League William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira also scored in the 3-0 win.

Mikel Arteta is Pep Guardiola and Arsenal is second after Manchester City

There has been no sub-par performance in the Arsenal squad, and Mikel Arteta has taken it upon himself to make history in the Premier League.

The Spanish coach did just that by bringing in 15-year-old Ethan Nwaneri, who became the youngest player in the competition’s history.

Xhaka has thrived as an equal midfielder alongside Thomas Partey this year.

He was arguably Arsenal’s player of the year in 2022 and captained the team against Brentford.

The Switzerland captain created the second goal of the match with a superb cross pass for Jesus to return to the net and double Arsenal’s lead at the Getek Community Stadium.

After another phenomenal performance by Xhaka, he was named to the Crooks Team of the Week.

How did Crocs praise Xhaka for his role in Arsenal’s impressive win?

By talking about how he doesn’t love him, it’s clear.

“I don’t like Granit Xhaka,” The crooks started. “I find him in confrontation, very aggressive and downright annoying. However, in his day he is a very good player.

“He should have left Arsenal years ago. However, for some reason, he not only stayed at the club, he sometimes wore the captain’s armband, and that is his popularity these days.

“Against Brentford he looked very impressive and so did Arsenal.

“I would like to know why Brentford did not look for this match, but Arsenal were very good and I suspect that even if they had it, they would not change anything – Arsenal were good. Most worrying.”

You should be worried, Garth. Really very worried.

Unsurprisingly, Xhaka wasn’t the only Arsenal player named in the Team of the Week.

Aaron Ramsdale kept a clean sheet against Brentford and didn’t have much to do at all, but he was included by Crooks, who has compared the England goalkeeper to Arsenal legend Bob Wilson.

The other Arsenal players selected are William Saliba and Gabriel Jesuswho has been “playing like a possessed man” since joining the North Londoners, according to Crooks.

“From the moment Gabriel Jesus put on the Arsenal shirt, he has been playing like a possessed man,” the former striker said.

“His enthusiasm and appetite for the game is phenomenal. He not only scores goals for Arsenal but leads the streak.

“His movement around the pitch is fantastic and he plays the game with an infectious arrogance that spreads across Arsenal’s squad like wildfire, the reason they are currently at the top of the Premier League.

The way Jesus generated enough strength, on a beautiful ball from Zakka, to beat David Raya in a Brentford goal gave a glimpse into just how fit and powerful Jesus really was.

“Why Brazil did not choose him for their national team during the international break is a mystery to me.”
