SKY Q is packed with useful features, most of which are designed to help you get the most out of your TV.
But there are a number of secret hacks that you may not have known existed.
So let’s take a look at the lesser-known tricks – from “undeleting” shows to viewing your photos – and make watching TV easier than ever.
The recording you were using while watching it can easily be accidentally deleted.
Fortunately, Sky Q has a useful feature that allows you to recover it from the deepest corners of your hard drive with a set-top box.
So, if you need to undelete a program, go to the Recordings section of Sky Q and scroll down to Deleted and you will find all your recently deleted shows. Just select the ones you want to restore.
Find your lost remote control in seconds
Another cool hack that not many people know about is the “find the remote” trick, which helps you move your zapper if you’re not sure where it is.
Simply press and hold the Q button on the front of your receiver and it will make the remote control start beeping so you can hear where it’s hiding.

That’s right, there is even a hack that lets you skip ads.
When you take action, it means you can go back to watching your favorite show without having to sit through annoying commercials.
Although it only works on recorded programs and TV catch-up.
To use it, simply press the mic button on your Sky remote when you start a commercial break and say “three-minute fast forward”.
This will get you past the ads without having to hold down the fast-forward button and wait to skip them.
Although, beware that not all ad breaks are exactly three minutes long, so you may need to do a small amount of forwarding or rewinding after the voice command has done its job to get to the right point in your presentation.
Show your photos
If you want to share snapshots of a recent vacation, party or event on the big screen for a group of your friends or family to see right away, you can do so via your Sky Q box.
All you have to do is press the three-dot button on the remote control, and select My Pictures.
You can then choose where you want to broadcast your photos from. This can be either a computer by going to sky.com/myphotos or from a mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet, using the Sky Q app.
Make it monochrome
If you find that the TV guide’s bright blue color is a little stressful for your eyes, why not switch to Sky Q’s “dark mode”?
This feature replaces the current blue theme with a more elegant black background.
To enable it, all you have to do is press Home on the remote and scroll down until you find Settings.
Select Accessibility from the menu and select High Contrast and turn it on.
Your Sky Q should instantly change to a black background.
