Liverpool have given hope in a stunning transfer deal for Sadio Mane, with the Bayern Munich player saying he appears ‘isolated’

Former Liverpool player Didi Hamann claims Sadio Mane appears ‘isolated’ and ‘incomplete’ at Bayern Munich, which has given Liverpool hope of a possible return for the striker.

Mane scored 120 goals in 269 games for Liverpool during his six-year spell at Anfield. He has formed a great relationship with strikers Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, helping Liverpool win many titles under Jurgen Klopp. These include the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and Club World Cup.

Mane entered the last 12 months of his life Liverpool Held last summer and this began the process of moving away.

Liverpool were desperate to link him to a new deal, but ultimately failed. Mane wanted a new challenge and knew he could get one because of his low terms.

Bayern swooped in and agreed a deal with Liverpool for the Senegalese in June, with the transfer continuing on July 1. According to reports, Liverpool received an initial £27.4 million for Mane. The transfer could rise to £35.1 million through add-ons.

Mane was transferred to Bayern as the German giants learned that Robert Lewandowski wanted to go to Barcelona. His movement passed later in July.

Mane made his Bayern Munich debut in the German Super Cup win over RB Leipzig. He also scored a goal as Bayern won 5-3.

The Liverpool legend played 11 games for the Bavarians in all competitions, scoring five goals. Three of those goals came in the Bundesliga.

Hamann worried about Sadio Mane

However, Mane does not look like his normal self as he is still getting used to life in Germany, and the way Bayern Munich plays.

Liverpool have been given hope of re-signing the striker from Bayern Munich with Hamann stating he is struggling at the Allianz Arena.

Hamann told the German port GMX (Across Anfield Watch): “He’s not integrated. I saw him in Liverpool where he played through the middle. That’s not his position.

“Now he holds that position at Bayern as well. He’s at his best when he comes from abroad. He doesn’t look happy to me.

“Other players like Leroy Sane, Jamal Mosiala, or in defence, Lucas Hernandez, who is currently injured, are doing great.

“No one is talking about Mane at the moment. He looks aloof and is barely in the game. Bayern have to control that.”

Liverpool fans would like their club to re-sign Mane. While Darwin Nunez looks set for a bright future with the Reds, he has yet to reach the top level.

Liverpool struggled at times without a focal point in attack, which is exactly what Mane gave them.

While a Liverpool reunion would be great, it’s unlikely. Mane’s struggles are just childhood problems and he will soon start to show his true potential with Bayern Munich.

It’s testimony to Mane that being “unfit” still leads to five goals in 11 games. Imagine how many goals he will score for Bayern once he becomes a fully integrated part of the team.
