Monday

The race in Britain where the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II takes place at Westminster Abbey has been cancelled.

While the BAA added fixtures at the end of September to accommodate lost races, there are still two meetings in Ireland on Monday.

The Fairyhouse hosts the Ballyhane Blenheim Stakes List (5.50) for 2-year-olds, with last-time winners Beauty Crescent and Ocean Jewel looking for the black type.

There’s a jump race on the second day of the Listowel Harvest Festival, with the highlight being the Liam Healy Memorial Lartigue Hurdle (3.35). The four-year-old competition marks a notable return to play for Cheltenham Festival winner Brazil, which landed in the Class III children’s hurdles race in March.

Tuesday

Listowel returns to the apartment Tuesday with the Edmund & Josie Whelan Memorial Listowel Stakes (4.20). Last month’s Ruby Stakes winner Charterhouse advances for back-to-back wins on the winning slate, before the Shergar Cup Mile winner Jungle Cove presents a chance to return to winning ways in Tuesday’s shutdown handicap (5.30).

Flat Racing also comes from Lingfield, Beverley and Newcastle while El Paso Wood leads for the third chase of its success this month for Tom Scudamore and David Pipe (4.10) in Warwick’s lonely jumps game.

Wednesday

it’s a Guinness Kerry’s National Day in Listowel and €200,000 on display for chasing 3 million disability (4.20). No favorite has won the competition in more than a decade, but Galway Plate Hewick winner may be looking to reverse against an entire field of coach Shark Hanlon.

While Gordon Elliott would be well represented at Listowel, he will also send a small team to Perth as the track removes the curtain in the 2022 season with the Glorious Finale meeting.

Matches at Redcar, Kempton and Southwell complete the day’s events.

Thursday

Group 3 Tattersalls stakes (3.00) in Newmarket and is set to be a great event capable of producing the best talent.

Last year’s winner Modern Games has had three successes in the first set since then, including heading straight out of this competition to land the Breeders’ Juvenile Turf Cup in Del Mar last November.

Looking to follow in their footsteps are Godolphin Victory Dance and Desert Order buddies, but Chesham Holloway Boy star, Group B Royal Scotsman scorer and brilliant first winner Nostrum can make formidable opponents.

Newmarket also hosts the Jockey Club Rose Bowl Stakes (3.35) and more flat races come from Pontefract, Southwell and Chelmsford.

The Listowel Harvest Festival continues with another day of Flat Racing as the Jump Race concludes in Perth. Of note an interesting hunt for beginners (2.10), where Haute Estime, who finished third with an average of 100-1 in the Class 1 Sefton Novices barrier, could make a notable start on the ramparts alongside the popular Gowel Road.

Three team races and two competitions listed on the Newmarket Friday card, themed Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Joel Stakes (3.35).

Tempus has been on an unstoppable fashion this summer and has presided over entries that include group winners Checkandchallenge, Potapova and Pogo. The race is preceded by the Princess Royal Basti Equiworld, Dubai Stakes (2.25) and Group 2 Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Rockfel Stakes (3.00).

Haydock hosts several competitive handicaps on its seven-race flat card and there is an evening meeting in Newcastle.

Two-year-olds take center stage at Newmarket as next year’s classic nominees target Group 1 at Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes (2.25Goodmonte Middle Park Stakes3.00).

The 1000 Meditate, Guinea’s second favorite, could be looking to overcome her first career defeat 13 days ago, and hand coach Aidan O’Brien achieves his fifth success at Cheveley Park in seven years. Its competitors can include Flying Childers 1-2 Trillium, The Platinum Queen, and the Lowther scingalong.

O’Brien could bid for a Group One double with Blackbeard, the quirky No Nay Never colt who has won in France in his last two matches and tops the Middle Park squad. Persian Power and the impressive Mill Reef Award winner Rock are also among the entries in this 6f test that Perfect Power won last year.
