Last week, Samsung announce That its One UI features from the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 models will also come to its other older foldable devices. It also stipulated that the rollout should start with last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 models. As promised, the update dubbed One UI 4.1.1 has started rolling out on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3, SamMobile reports.
While Samsung started rolling it out last week in select locations like Korea, it now appears to be expanding worldwide with European models starting to receive updates this week.
The report states that Galaxy users from Europe should see the F926BXXU1CVHB firmware version rolled out to Galaxy Z Fold 3 Individuals. Likewise, it provides firmware version F711BXXU2CVHB for Z Flip 3 Models.
One UI 4.1.1 will contain many improvements that have been seen in recent Galaxy foldable phones, especially Galaxy Z Fold 4. Key elements include the new taskbar, a PC-like taskbar that allows users to move between applications seamlessly and helps deal with hassle-free multitasking. These improvements come from Android 12L, Google’s tablet, and a foldable software update.
To further enrich the experience, they are accompanied by new gestures, making it easy to resize and drag and drop windows. As for optics, the latest update includes dual preview features on the Z Fold 3, those launched with the Z Fold 4.
There are also upgrades to the Z Flip 3 with the new update. Features like Quick Shot and Flex Mode have got some great upgrades taken from Z Flip 4.
For starters, the Quick Shot feature allows users to use the cover screen as a scene selector to take selfies with the primary camera. On the other hand, Flex Mode will enable users to position their Flip phones at angles ranging from 75° to 115° while taking photos with the rear cameras.
While these are basically the feature updates that are being rolled out on both foldable phones, it appears that there is a separate update being rolled out for these devices in the form of the September security update.
according to SamMobileFirmware versions F711BXXS2CVHF and F926BXXS1CVHF for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3, respectively, are being released in the European region. These minor updates are said to be the September 2022 security patch for both foldable devices, which Apparently includes 24 vulnerabilities fixes, 21 of which are rated as high priority.
