Overwatch 2’s newest hero, Kiriko, blends tradition and modernity with a powerful healing toolkit

Kiriko can target allies and cast powerful paper spells in their direction to heal them. This is a series of five projectiles that will be aimed at an ally. Healing Ofuda is a very slow-moving ability, so there is a chance for players to throw them early if they expect damage.

All of this sounds incredibly powerful for a supporting hero, but the developers are aware of the overpowering potential of its toolkit and are working hard to balance it out.

At a press conference, champion designer Piero Herrera said Suzu’s protection immunity is one of the things they “definitely keep an eye on” in play tests.

“We have procedures in place to make sure that we can balance even after her release, in the first two weeks,” he said. “It’s packed with a lot of benefits but I think we strike the balance really well.”
