September Community Day in Pokemon Go is just around the corner. This month’s event takes place on Sundays and stars the rock-hard Pokemon Roggenrola, with a slew of other in-game rewards to take advantage of, including increased candy. Here’s everything you need to know about Community Day in September.
When is Community Day in September?
Pokemon Go’s September Community Day takes place on Sunday, September 18th. The event runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time, with additional Boldore four-star raids after that continuing until 10 p.m. local time.
Featured Pokémon of the Month for September: Rogina
The star of this month’s Community Day is Roggenrola, a rock-hard Pokemon that was first introduced in the Pokemon Black and White games for the Nintendo DS.
Throughout the event, Roggenrola will appear in the wild more frequently than usual, giving you more opportunities to capture it and store Roggenrola candy.
You will also have additional chances to get Roggenrola through a new paid research story called Rock ‘n’ Roll. You can access this story by purchasing a virtual ticket from the in-game item store in Pokemon Go for $1.
How to get the shiny Roginerola
Increasing Roggenrola’s spawn means that you’ll also have a better chance of facing the brilliant Roggenrola during the event. There is no foolproof way to show incense, but you will have more chances of finding one if you activate the incense, which will cause more Roggenrola to breed in the wild around you. Keep it up and you’ll eventually find a shiny rogerola.
Event Move: Meteor Ray
Not only will Roggenrola appear more frequently during Community Day in September, but he will also be able to learn an event-exclusive special attack as he evolves.
Every Boldore evolve into Gigalith before 10pm local time you will learn what kind of rocks charged meteor attack packet. This movement has 120 strengths in boss fights and 140 strengths in gyms and raids.
There are two ways to evolve Boldore in Pokemon Go. The first is to feed him 200 Rogina’s. Alternatively, you can develop Boldore without spending any candy if you receive it in a deal from another player.
On top of Roggenrola’s increased numbers, some in-game rewards will be activated during Community Day in September. During base event hours (2pm-5pm local time), you’ll earn twice the usual amount of candy for catching Pokémon, and eggs placed in incubators will hatch at a quarter of the normal distance. In addition, temptation and incense units will last for three hours instead of their usual duration.
As mentioned, after the proper event is over, additional Boldore raids in gyms will run from 5 PM until 10 PM local time. Each time you clear one of these raids, Roginerola counts will increase around the host gym for 30 minutes.
