‘Seems to be overpriced’ – where does the value of the bow lie now with Baaeed out? | horse racing news

Adayar and Alpinista: Could benefit from Shadwell’s decision to skip Arc with Baaeed

7:00 am, September 15, 2022

After a month of will – he won’t – after his impressive performance at the Gudmonte International, William Haggas confirmed on Wednesday that Baeid won’t end his arc career. Instead, it will target Champion Stakes. The four-year-old has impressively led the Longchamp market, but where does the value lie after his split?

“Adayar looks like a high price”

Prospect: 16-1 (Generally)

Charlie Appleby is sure to rearrange his plans now that the Arc is an easier race to win than the Champion Stakes.

Derby winner last year Adayar Looks huge at 16-1 in the wake of the Baaeed news. Don’t forget he traded as low as 1.55 running on Betfair before fading into fourth place 12 months ago, but that was after hitting the classic trials at Sandown and Lingfield and winning the Derby and the King George. It was a crackdown and probably not at its peak.

The success of his Doncaster comeback was a great preparation for a big fall goal and I don’t support the theory that it’s better 1m2f than 1m4f. He reached his two best showings during the Arc Tour where he scored RPRs of 124 and 128 at Derby and King George. He tackles any ground and will go to France like anything else in the race.

Charlie Appleby should think about it seriously.

Prospect: 16-1 (Generally)

I haven’t been a fan of this three-year-old this season, so I’m happy with the new favorite Luxembourg, and certainly Charlie Appleby should now consider seriously Arc for Adayar.

Adayar: He made a satisfactory comeback when he easily won in Doncaster last week

He’s in great demand after just one start this season, but Enable managed it when he was four, while former Godolphin winner Sacchi also had a light campaign before scoring at Longchamp, I don’t think things really went well for Adayar When he ran well in last year’s race. He and the winner 12 months ago, Torquator Tasso, is where the current value lies in my opinion.

“Alpinesta gets my vote”

Prospect: 6-1 (Generally)

By Liam Head, reporter

It’s a pity we won’t see the illustrious Far take his chance, but the announcement doesn’t really come as a shock and without it Mountaineer I got my vote after I put on a daring show at the Yorkshire Oaks.

The top-ranked Mustang is racing to win seven races – throughout the arc distance – and has credentials to make it eight on her return to France, having landed at the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud in July. They’ve been targeting them all this year and won’t have any problems if the ground becomes soft as well.

Qatar Arc de Triomphe Award (October 2, Longchamp)

Coral: 4 Luxembourg, 5 Alpinesta, 8 holders, Torquator Tasso, 9 Onesto, 14 Adayar, 16 La Parisienne, Westover, 20 wise, Do Deuce, 25 bar
